# Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority Opens Public Comment Period on Proposed Rules

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority announced on November 2, 2026, that a public comment period is now open for proposed rules implementing legislative changes required by HB 3143. #### Public Comment Period Now Open

The proposed rules implement legislative changes required by [HB 3143](https://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=HB3143&Session=2600) from the 2026 legislative session and clarify sections of [current OMMA rules](https://oklahoma.gov/content/dam/ok/en/omma/content/rulemaking-process/rules/2026-8-28/August%2028%202026%20Emergency%20Rules.pdf). Amendments to clarify the physician registration renewal timeline and allow laboratories to define how they will meet peak integration requirements are intended to provide additional information and flexibility.

The proposed rules also establish and clarify administrative procedures for OMMA proceedings to provide greater consistency and align processes with applicable state law. Additional amendments establish a process for interested persons to petition OMMA to promulgate, amend or repeal a rule. Other amendments correct grammatical, spelling or scrivener’s errors.
